Scholarships

The PHS awards several scholarships annually to students from West Michigan who are of Polish-American descent. 


Scholarships are awarded to students who plan to attend or currently attend an accredited 2-year trade/vocational program, 2-year community college program or 4-year college or university.



Scholarship Guidelines

Scholarships generally will be awarded based on the following criteria:

• Must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.75 GPA;

• All recipients must be of Polish descent and provide a brief statement (signed and dated by the applicant) delineating their heritage;

• Financial need will be taken into consideration, and;

• All applications must be received by April 15.


Please refer to the PDF file below for more specifics on requirements and to download an application.  The applications also can be obtained from the counseling offices of high schools or post high school institutions or by writing the Polish Heritage Society of Grand Rapids, PO Box 1844, Grand Rapids MI 49501.  


The Polish Heritage Society will notify recipients of the scholarships and financial aid offices of the institutions by May 15.

Grants

The Polish Heritage Society of Grand Rapids supports organizations and causes that carry on the

traditions introduced by Polish immigrants to Grand Rapids, preserve the history of

contributions made by local Polish-Americans, promote Polish culture and cultivate ties

between Grand Rapids and Poland.
